The End of Your Arrogance - Chapter 33.1
Evelyn asked, “Is it available now? It had been abandoned due to neglect.”
“Yes, Madam. It was repaired internally a while ago,” came the response. Evelyn’s smile turned sour. “Since the Lord’s return, the caretaker has been paying extra attention to the annex.”
They had recently arrived at the ducal palace. One sleepless night, when the cries of her child became too much to bear, Evelyn found herself hesitant to call upon the caretaker for help.
“Madam, the Duke is at war. Please refrain from indulging in luxuries like the Marquis of Maduse,” those words had pained Evelyn deeply.
But that was all in the past now…
“Let’s go. I’m excited to soak in the hot spring,” Evelyn said with feigned cheerfulness, attempting to forget her past.
“Miss, I’ll prepare it right away,” Sophie said, fluttering away like a nimble butterfly.

Sophie gasped in amazement as they arrived at the entrance of the fairy spring. “Wow! It’s really beautiful! This place used to be so neglected and shabby,” she exclaimed. Evelyn couldn’t help but admire the transformation too. The once-neglected place had undergone a complete metamorphosis and was unrecognizable.
They strolled through a garden adorned with delicate decorations, heading towards a private room with individual bathtubs. Belina halted for a moment and pointed to a narrow, winding path. The path was lined with small trees, with lanterns hanging from the branches, casting a warm glow all around.
“Madam, if you follow this path, you’ll find the main hot spring. It’s a natural hot spring that preserves nature and is said to be very beautiful at night. You should visit it next time,” Belina suggested.
“Yes, Belina, let’s go together.”
“I want to go too, Miss!”
“Of course, Sophie.”
Their pace quickened, and they soon arrived at a spacious room with an outdoor bathtub. The room was sparsely furnished, with only essential pieces. The highlight of the room was the large bathtub made entirely of glass. Steam rose from the hot spring water already filled in the tub, creating a dreamy atmosphere.
Evelyn looked around in awe, as if she were visiting a place for the first time. Belina smiled warmly and explained everything to her.
“It would have been better if it were an outdoor bath, but… we covered the front with a glass window to prevent assassination attempts,” Belina explained.
Evelyn glanced outside the glass window, admiring the dense trees that surrounded them. “Still, it’s beautiful. Thanks to those trees, it feels like I’m buried in nature,” she said with a soft smile.
In the tranquil atmosphere, Evelyn felt as if she were in a cabin nestled deep in the mountains. She let out a contented sigh, savoring the moment. Her gaze wandered around the room, admiring the elegant furnishings, before settling on a screen that had been arranged for privacy.
“Belina, can I have some time alone in the bath?” Evelyn spoke cautiously, her voice lowered to a whisper. Belina’s sharp eyes caught a glimpse of a scar peeking through the lace that wrapped around Evelyn’s slender neck, causing her to narrow them.
“Of course, Madam. You can relax and soak your feet while I stand guard outside,” Belina said, casting a glance at the paper-thin door imported from the East, which provided a clear view of the interior.
With Belina tapping her feet on the window in front of the bathtub, Sophie quickly prepared a large towel, a robe, and a change of clothes. She rose from her seat at a table full of tea and snacks that Evelyn would enjoy.
Now alone, Evelyn took her robe and towel and slipped behind the screen. She stared at the outdoor bathtub, her green eyes momentarily turning black.
The sound of water overflowing from the bathtub filled the room, and the woman with long golden hair leaned her head back against the edge, humming a tune as she enjoyed the hot spring.
“Sorry, Belina. I’ll be out shortly.”
With a grin, she reached out and opened the closet door behind the screen. The thick door glided open noiselessly, revealing a secret passage.
Nasir had explained the magic embedded in the wall. “Just register your blood and place your hand on the wall. You’ll be transported through the passage in an instant.”
With a confident step, she entered the narrow space, which could only accommodate one person at a time. She placed her hand on the wall and felt a tingle run through her body as the magic took effect. In a flash, she vanished into thin air, leaving no trace behind.
