The Concubine Does Not Love the Emperor - Chapter 4.1
“I found them! It’s those guys, brother!”
Upon hearing the words of the toothless man, a group of towering figures soon revealed themselves. Among them, a man who appeared to be the leader glared at Margaret.
“Did she hit you?”
“She was the one who struck, but the guy behind me-”
“Not just an ordinary girl, huh?”
Interrupting the words of the toothless man, the leader stepped forward. Margaret grabbed Ray’s arm and pulled him behind her.
“Stay back.”
Ray scratched his neck and muttered to himself.
“I should’ve just killed them all.”
“What did you say?”
Thinking that Margaret was talking to him, she turned around. Ray smirked, folding his hands casually.
“I’ll be safely behind, so don’t worry about me.”
“We’ll finish this quickly, so don’t worry.”
“These bastards! How dare they ignore me while I’m at the front!”
The leader, who resembled a wild boar, vented his anger, his nostrils flaring. Without any change in expression, Margaret counted the number of enemies she had to face. One. Two. Three. Four. The toothless man behind her turned pale when he saw the count. Ray glared at him with a sinister gaze.
“Let’s finish this quickly.”
As soon as Margaret spat out the words as if annoyed, the leader rushed towards her. Margaret, aware of Ray behind her, swiftly attacked her opponent’s chest with a weighted fist. The leader froze like a statue, still clutching his fist. When Margaret evaded slightly to the side, he collapsed to the ground with a loud thud. One of the men, who had not yet realized what had happened, clutched his stomach and screamed.
Then, immediately, he fell to the ground without strength, just like the previous man. The people who were enjoying the festival noticed the commotion and began to gather little by little.
“Everyone, let’s attack together!”
The thugs, who had fallen to Margaret’s blows, all rushed at her simultaneously.
Meanwhile, the leader, who had fallen after being hit in the chest, groaned and struggled to get up, pressing his hand against the ground. An immense force crushed him from above. The leader’s face was roughly pressed against the dirt.
“Hey, once you fall down, shouldn’t you stay down?”
It was overwhelming pressure. Swearing, the leader barely managed to lift his head. Looking down at him as if he were a bug, there was a face that was excessively refined and beautiful to be called a thug.
“A girl… who looks like a girl.”
At the leader’s words, Ray’s face twisted in disgust. He roughly brushed aside his tousled blonde hair.
“Hah! I know I’m handsome, but I don’t like hearing that kind of thing again.”
Ray’s foot kicked the leader mercilessly. He toyed with the leader as if he were a plaything under his foot while looking at Margaret. She seemed unaware of what was happening behind her as she dealt with the thugs rushing at her all at once. Her lips curled upward, naturally forming a confident smile.
“You’re charming. Isn’t that right?”
The fallen leader beneath his foot remained silent. After delivering another kick to the already unconscious thug, Ray casually whistled and admired the woman’s performance. Margaret handled the delinquents as if they were three-year-old children. She skillfully dodged their attacks with graceful movements, while striking their vital points to maximize damage.
The toothless man, who had been eyeing Ray from the back, also fell lifelessly under Margaret’s hands. It was such a clean execution that Ray felt like applauding once again.
“What’s all the commotion?”
