Tamed the Monster Prince - Chapter 9.2
After losing a considerable amount of blood, she mused enough energy to stand up, indicating that this was likely the extent of her capabilities.
“I’m so hungry…”
She was aware she was not the only one feeling uneasy and cautiously approached the table.
A lavish spread on the table and the dishes included were the same ones served at the wedding banquet. Irena was overjoyed to see a plentiful supply of food, and she was especially pleased to see the plate of pork dumplings and grapes because it was the first thing that caught her attention.
One grape was all that she consumed.
While swallowing the food, her mouth was filled with the taste of sweet and sour juice, which made her smile. On the other hand, Cesar kept a blank expression on his face as he watched the scene.
“You’re not going to eat?”
He did not respond in any way. Is it possible that he does not enjoy eating fruit? Perhaps he would enjoy the meal more if it included meat.
Her concentration was drawn to the grilled chicken in front of her. A citrus sauce was used to decorate the golden-brown exterior, which contributed to the dish’s appetizing appearance.
Cesar carefully raised one of his legs. Was this the satisfaction that he needed?
“Am I gonna eat this?”
“Yeah.”
“Gonna eat it?”
“Uh-huh.”
Upon witnessing her attempt to remove the chicken leg with her mouth, his expression was dissatisfaction.
“Come here. Let’s eat together.”
“Okay.”
The response was instantaneous; however, he appeared reluctant to join the discussion. Irena had no other option but to approach him cautiously, offering the chicken leg with one hand.
He appeared anxious as she approached, yet he couldn’t tear his gaze away from the meat.
“Three―”
Before she could approach him, he swiftly took the chicken leg from her grasp.
It all occurred instantaneously. All that remained in Irena’s grasp was the oily residue.
And then, Cesar…
“Sorry.”
He swiftly returned to the corner and consumed it in one bite, quickly breaking it apart. It only took him a matter of seconds to devour it completely.
“Haha…”
Observing him lick his hands, it was evident he had easily ingested it.
“Eat some more.”
Cesar was offered to eat from the plate containing the grilled chicken being brought to him. He looked around, utterly oblivious that no one else was in the immediate area. How he carried himself suggested that he had been through a traumatic experience within the past few months. Because when it comes down to it, even dogs are aware that they shouldn’t mess with their food.
He eagerly accepted the plate she offered, and she smiled at his happiness. After carefully removing it from its packaging and placing it in his hands, he immediately began gnawing on the chicken leg.
“It’s good.”
Upon seating herself at the table, she noticed Cesar gazing at her with intrigue. The grilled horned owl had been devoured in minutes, leaving only its white bones behind. Such was a remarkable feat, one that she could not help but be amazed by.
“Come here.”
She called him slowly, and his gaze shifted momentarily.
“Please consider trying something else as well.”
She used a fork to collect the baby lamb stew from the table. The meat was tender and exuded juices.
“Mmm, it looks delicious.”
She cast a dramatic look in Cesar’s direction before taking a bite of the meat.
The succulent meat dissolved on her palate, crafted with the highest skill of the royal chef. Her hunger was no longer able to be ignored.
“Yeah.”
Cesar abruptly obtained the chopsticks beside her, prompting a smile from her.
“Sit here.”
She gestured to the chair beside her, and he complied, taking a seat. He then proceeded to take the food from the plate and consume it using his hands.
“Wow.”
She was astounded once more. Cesar, who had previously exhibited such a lack of etiquette, had now come so close. Her perceptions appeared to have been altered due to the sequence of unexpected events from the day before.
“Utilize a fork when eating rather than utilizing your hands.”
“Okay.”
His hands gave off an unappealing appearance because they were covered in a thick layer of oil and dirt. In addition, there were telltale signs of something in his mouth, which contributed even further to his disheveled appearance.
She quickly cleaned his hands and mouth by soaking a cloth in the liquid that was in the finger bowl and then wiping them with the fabric. Surprisingly, after initially attempting to withdraw his hands, he followed my instructions.
She encouraged the recipient to partake in the baby’s abalone stew by offering them a spoonful.
She was worried that he would throw it away if it did not live up to his standards, but thankfully, that did not turn out to be the case in the end
