Tamed the Monster Prince - Chapter 7.2
In addition, he gave the impression that she would throw the bottle in Cesar’s direction if an incident occurred.
The knights, displaying a look of displeasure, exited the room with a few strides.
After the guests departed, the staff set out the dishes. Amidst the hustle and bustle, only Cesar and she remained stationary.
“What is this?”
She gave the wait staff a pleading look as they set up the dishes, but they did not respond to her request in any way. It appeared they were making every effort to avoid eye contact with her. The table was laden with food as quickly as possible, and once the staff had finished their duties, they left the dining area.
The door of the dining area shut with a thud, leaving the two of them alone. They had ordered food to share, yet…
“What now?”
Cesar was equipped with a muzzle and could not consume food.
After further inspection, it became clear that Cesar’s muzzle did not wholly encircle his mouth like it was supposed to. It appeared to have a structure much like a grid, suggesting that food could be moved through it somehow. Her inquiry was consequently responded to in a timely fashion.
Because the dish and its accompanying utensils were placed in front of Cesar, she could deduce what was happening.
Tongs, not cutlery, are what she sees there.
The goal was to provide the guests with meat that was cut into bite-sized pieces and could be served using the tongs provided.
“What is this?”
Irena looked at the food on the plate in front of her and bowed her head in astonishment. Nobody in the room had thought of being kind to her or offering assistance. No matter how thoroughly she searched the area, she could not find anyone who could assist her. Even though she felt alone in the expansive room, she knew she could not continue existing in this manner.
“Hey…”
She opted to rouse Cesar. Such was already the second instance of her doing so. She may have performed the same action the previous night at midnight.
Cesar remained unresponsive, still unconscious.
“Ugh.”
She released a deep breath and cast her gaze upon his countenance. Notable contusions and lacerations were visible on his cheeks.
“In the world…”
Indeed, these marks had not been present earlier today; they must have appeared recently and are too distinct from overlooking.
“He’s gone crazy.”
She felt disoriented due to the intensity of the situation. Recalling the abusive conduct of the guards who had just escorted him to the location, it was reasonable to assume they had physically restrained him.
‘How could you possibly do this to someone?’
Despite being perceived as cursed, he was still a prince and deserved a certain respect.
They treated him in an inhumane manner.
She felt a surge of emotion as she contemplated the cruel and degrading treatment of another.
“Ugh… Ah…”
He shuddered and groaned in pain, catching her off guard. Despite her surprise, she was not scared; she laid her hand softly on his shoulder. He jolted as if he had been burned but soon calmed down.
“Ugh… Ah…”
Cesar inhaled deeply as she softly called his name through the opening of his lips. Someone needed to take the initiative.
“Ah…”
Their gazes connected, and she felt a rush of excitement. She was confident that he had comprehended her message the previous evening. Perhaps this time, things could work out. She cautiously extended her hand, moving.
“I will be removing this now.”
He did not have the same level of composure that he had the day before; instead, he appeared anxious. His eyes were wide with fear, and he seemed highly sensitive to his surroundings as if he was somehow getting ready to defend himself.
Based on her observations, she reasoned that the circumstance was improper and that his treatment was unfair.
She approached the lock on Cesar’s muzzle with caution, which caused him to flinch when she moved her hand closer to it. Extremely audible noise was produced by the chains made of iron.
Cesar could both hear and feel the release of the restraints placed on his face when he heard the sound of the lock disengaging. After that, he gave a slight shake of his head that resembled the movement of a large dog.
Despite the restraints placed on him, there was clear evidence of discomfort on his face. After the gag was removed, it was clear that he felt a sense of relief. He seemed to breathe a little easier.
“Ugh…”
He uttered a sigh of frustration, revealing his face.
She recalled the pleasant and tranquil countenance of Cesar she beheld the previous night; however, the one standing before her now appeared terrified.
Thus, she uttered his name once more.
