Tamed the Monster Prince - Chapter 7.1
She anticipated that Countess Elvira would reluctantly agree to stay in the accommodations, despite the lack of cleanliness, which could be detrimental to the health of the royal family. She thought this would happen because Countess Elvira is a loyal royal family member. She was taken aback when Countess Elvira smiled broadly in response to her question.
“The palace personnel will be addressing this matter shortly. I was not anticipating this outcome.”
“I will surely convey your appreciation to Her Majesty the Empress.”
She respectfully curtsied to Countess Elvira, her expression conveying a pleasant smile. She surmised that a palace guard would be patrolling the grand palace and acknowledged the difficulty of residing in such an isolated location. It was a subtle reminder that they would overpower her and diminish her power.
“Hah…”
The maids arrived to inform her Highness that the bath was prepared and ready for use. They offered their services to ensure a pleasant bathing experience.
She averted her gaze, not wanting to display the injuries her body had sustained.
She announced that she was no longer required to take a separate bath, and the maids stepped back out of respect for her decision. As soon as she was confident that they had left, she submerged herself in the soothing water and felt her tired body begin to unwind.
Upon exiting the bath, the maids were ready to attend to her.
“Dinner is ready,” they said.
“How may I be of service to Your Highness?”
They indicated that he would be arriving shortly.
Countess Elvira informed her that she and Cesar would utilize the Obsidian Place together. Cesar will serve as her support. Despite being deemed cursed, he is not an illegitimate royal family prince.
She waited for Cesar at the long table, quickly realizing her expectations were overly optimistic.
“Oh my!”
She was made aware of her surroundings by a loud clatter, and she was required to proceed with extreme caution due to the unpredictability of the royal family. As she watched Cesar being led away by a knight while he was restrained in metal shackles, she was taken aback and immediately jumped up from her seat.
“Ugh… Ugh!”
He had a leather gag in his mouth, rendering his speech muffled.
Upon inspection, it was apparent that the individual had been restrained with restraints and had not received adequate care.
“What type of care is being provided to this prince?”
She inquired as to the type of law that applied to him.
One of the knights interjected, requesting that the individual step back or face consequences. At this, Cesar lifted his gaze, his eyes intense and reminiscent of the night prior.
He appeared to be in extreme agitation, evidenced by his tense posture and rapid, shallow breathing. His left hand, which was shaking, was noticeably paler than his right hand, which was noticeably darker. In addition to that, there were dark filaments of smoke rising. The connections that had initially appeared to be so solid became stressed and eventually broke.
“Oh, no!”
With a loud clatter, the bonds restraining Cesar finally broke, leaving him partially free.
“Prepare!”
The knights were armed with a restraint rod with a horseshoe-shaped tip at the end of the pole. The rod was constructed out of metal. Cesar was on high alert as they drew closer. Still, he was powerless to intervene in the developing situation and could only watch it unfold.
“Ee-e-e-ah!”
Cesar’s gaze was wild and irrational. His eyes were bloodshot and dark veins were visible on his contorted brow.
He wasted no time on his way towards the knight. But as soon as he did, the knight and his companions moved out of the way. A powerful blow from the suppression rod knocked him to the ground, and he could not get back up. The knight then covered his mouth and nose with a cloth. He tried to fight, but it was too late—he had already been taken under control.
“Guhh…”
Cesar’s gaze slowly shifted to the heavens as the anaesthetic soaked into the fabric. His movements began to slow, eventually ceasing entirely without a single twitch.
“Ugh…”
She was mesmerized by the performance that was taking place in front of her. The knights seemed unfazed by the circumstances, and their facial expressions were difficult to interpret. It was a tense moment, but nobody moved or made any expressions. With great care, Cesar’s body was lifted, laid out, and chained to the chair. One of the knights who had been stealing perspiration handed her something.
“It is strongly recommended that you avoid touching the muzzle or the chains at all costs.”
“If you wish to safeguard your life, that is all that is required.”
He gave it to her as a bottle, explaining that it was an anesthetic they had used before. Such is done to ensure that Her Majesty is safeguarded at all times.
