Tamed the Monster Prince - Chapter 16.1
Cornelya ‘s influence was so strong that it was impossible to conceive of her having any negative qualities.
“Would Your Highness be willing to treat it as a human being?”
“A human?”
Cornelya emitted a startled chuckle. There was no mistaking the undertones of scorn in her laughter.
“The criteria you specified: bipedalism, tool use, and verbal communication.”
“Will you train that beast?”
Irena nodded.
“I will try.”
Her lips formed a slight curve while a glimmer of blue twinkled in her eyes.
“Interesting.”
One of her attendants brought her a large jewelry box after she had explicitly asked for one. When she opened it up, she discovered a necklace inside.
The necklace, which was quite large, was intricately intertwined with pearls and diamonds. The necklace’s focal point, a sapphire pendant, was enthralling.
Mercedes mentioned that she was given a necklace with the inscription “Mystic of Azure” when she entered the palace. The royal ladies had worn this necklace since time immemorial, and it had been handed down from generation to generation. A closer look revealed that it was a valuable item because it had a gem that gave the appearance of having a blue flame within it.
Her eyes narrowed in suspicion, so the Queen offered the necklace to meet her demand.
“If you have received this, it is confirmed that you can obtain what you desire. Would you like to be treated like royalty?”
“…Yes.”
Irena was captivated by the sight of the grand sapphire. With its impeccable clarity, the dazzling radiance of the crystalline gem seemed to lure her in like a malicious flame that could consume all.
Cornelya murmured, “If you can make it a reality, I will provide you with the Mystic of Azure. If you wear it at the formal banquet, I am certain the courtiers in your favor will attend in great numbers. You will have more than enough of the acknowledgment that you crave.”
“Recognition…”
Establishing a deadline for the completion of the task would be beneficial. They should aim for the summer banquet as the target date; this should provide sufficient time to accomplish the goal.
The Empress provided her with a stipulation. In three months, she was to host a celebratory event to conclude the social season. Irena, alongside the Prince, was expected to be present. She declared it had to be in a form that she could recognize. She gave a sardonic smile.
“However, I am not fond of falsehoods. If you attempt to deceive me, then yes.”
Her azure eyes were so intense that Irena could only remain silent as she finished.
“I assume I shall need to provide you with a punishment as a warning?”

They left the party on a sour note which left everyone feeling uneasy. On the other hand, the trip back was much less complicated than the one initially taken. They gradually returned to Obsidian Place with Delphina’s blessing guiding their steps.
She believed that she had provided the individual in question with the appropriate training to become a bodyguard; however, she later realized this was not the case.
She cocked her head to the side in the direction that a male’s vocalization was coming from. There was a dashing gentleman there who was clad in armor.
It would appear that he is not as remarkable as was initially thought.
A man with brown hair moved toward her in an intent manner as he got closer. Because of his towering presence, she was rendered completely immobile.
“This is Irena, the Countess of Flores.”
Upon hearing her name being called out distinctly, she wrinkled her forehead and studied him. His brown hair was like flames, and his azure eyes were like precious stones. His features were strikingly similar to Cornelya ‘s, causing her to shudder involuntarily.
“Greetings, Your Highness.”
When the Second Prince arrived, the servant discretely divulged his identity, even though he had not exchanged a single word with him despite his previous actions. Is it possible that this is meant to show reverence for Matthias de la Rosa, Queen Cornelya’s son?
She had no idea of the correct etiquette, so she bowed her head out of respect. If this had happened before the wedding, she would have been required to kneel before him as a sign of respect. Nevertheless, given that she is now the Princess, her politeness was appropriate and proper according to the protocol.
“It is a great honor to make Your Highness, the Second Prince’s, acquaintance.”
She extended her politeness to him in the way that she greeted him. Despite attending the wedding, he could not converse with the Second Prince. Nevertheless, she was conscious that he was Queen Consort Cornelya’s offspring. He was dead set on making an excellent first impression, and there was no room for error in his plan.
