Tamed the Monster Prince - Chapter 14.1
It had been established that the gem, handed down from generation to generation to the Empress, was a reality.
Receiving the treasure signifies the recognition of Her Majesty the Empress.
“I see…”
She met Empress Cornelya, and during their conversation, she picked up on the Empress’s latent hostility when she brought up the idea of donating the jade palace and other items.
She would like to know if it is possible to garner the attention of a notable person while enjoying a cup of tea, as this topic piques her interest. Is it through one’s sense of smell or one’s sense of taste that one gains recognition?
She had a goal in mind when she went to see the Empress; she intended to take whatever steps were necessary to extricate herself from this challenging situation.
“Please ensure you are dressed appropriately before lunch with Her Majesty the Empress.”
The maids appeared embarrassed, so she could not change her clothes.
“Doesn’t Cesar come with us?”
Mercedes quietly shook her head.
“Her Majesty…”
She coughed lightly and spoke.
“I respectfully decline an audience with Her Majesty the Empress.”
She experienced a feeling of apprehension. Consequently, she was to be unaccompanied by the Empress. Despite Cesar accompanying her, she still felt anxious regarding the potential outcome.
She attempted to conceal her racing heart but was uncertain if it was the right decision.
Mercedes unexpectedly expressed his unwillingness to go to Cornelya, leaving everyone, including the maids, aback.
“Uh?”
“Yeah.”
This meeting was necessary, and it was time to be prepared.
“Cesar.”
Irena carefully invoking his name was what finally set her free. She was eventually freed, and he was heard saying, “Very well.”
As she brought her hands up to her mouth, she let out a long sigh and flashed a wry smile simultaneously. I quickly interjected by saying, “I don’t believe that’s the situation you’re contemplating.” I believe that statement to be false.
Maybe it was because Cesar didn’t want to, or perhaps because the effects of the blood he drank the night before were starting to wear off. Either way, it was a mystery.
Regardless of the circumstances, it is evident that the two of them needed some time apart.
“Could I have a moment of your time?”
Upon her request, all the staff departed from the bedroom, providing a stern warning not to enter under any circumstances.
They had no time to spare.
“Cesar.”
His head quickly rose upon shaking his shoulder, and an intimidating atmosphere permeated the room.
In response, she took a deep breath.
Cesar’s mouth opened slightly to reveal a sharp fang, which was even more prominent in the bright light. His thick hair made the fang shine even more brilliantly than the rest.
“Ah.”
He let out a loud exhalation, which warmed the sensation of his breath. Irena heard a loud thump as he lifted his body off the ground and placed his weight on her.
His demeanor gave off a strong impression of buoyancy. Irena was familiar with his vivaciousness from their prior interactions on several occasions. I couldn’t help but wonder how often his restless gaze had been directed toward her.
A distinct sniffing sound could be heard, beginning at her waist and gradually rising until his eyes were locked onto her neck. This sound started at the bottom of her body and worked its way up.
“This isn’t right!”
She had an appointment with the Empress and needed to look her best for the meeting, so she could not let any sign of her presence here be seen. Despite this, he continued to advance toward her. Eventually, he brought his tongue to her neck, which lingered for some time.
She had to cover her neck with her hand to keep it a secret.
Instead of shaking her hand, he leaned in and kissed the back of her neck.
“This isn’t right either!”
She had no choice but to avert her gaze as she sensed a gradually growing warmth, almost as if he was attempting to comprehend the words he had just said. How much longer will we have to put up with this rocky relationship? She did so slowly as she brought her hand up to his lips because it had been unbalanced since it was created.
Her injury from the previous day had not yet healed, and there was still a strong smell of blood in the air. The reaction of Cesar, which was to purse his lips and take a deep breath, indicated his response.
She felt a sharp twinge of pain in her waist, and the injury she had not yet fully recovered from throbbed in her head. She gritted her teeth, squeezed her eyes shut, and persevered through the pain. After a brief pause, she opened her eyes to discover that he was intently looking at her.
