Ilyin didn’t want to lose a single person she cherished. She was willing to be greedy if that was what it took for her wish to come true.

“That’s right,” she said.

Ilyin clenched the windowsill tightly and looked at the knights. Aden wrapped his arms gently around her, providing comfort. Then, he noticed her reddened hands due to gripping the windowsill so tightly.

“I’m afraid your delicate hands might get hurt.”

Ilyin finally let go of the windowsill, and Aden kissed her hand where the red marks were.

“Has it turned this red already?”

Aden teased, and Ilyin’s cheeks flushed slightly in response. Aden reached out and drew the curtains shut, blocking out the outside world. Now, all they could see was the shadow of the windowsill, the bright light, and a faint green landscape beyond.

Ilyin wetted the closed curtain slightly and peered outside. The brilliant sunlight made her seem to sparkle.

Bugle call!

Once again, the long bugle sound echoed. Simultaneously, the sound of hooves striking the ground resonated. Startled, Ilyin turned her gaze to one side.

Even with her vision somewhat blurred by the dazzling sun, her earnest expression as she peered outside was charming and adorable. Aden couldn’t help but smile softly.

Outside, there was a family who recently pledged allegiance to the Leon family, so they couldn’t be seated in the same place as the other prominent families from Biflten.

As Arlen boasted in a loud voice, the other nobles stared at him with uncomfortable expressions. The rumors that started circulating after Amiid’s birthday party made some believe that there might be tension between the Biflten and Leon families.

The Rodea region was the largest farming area within the Leon Duchy and was not far from the location where the equestrian competition was being held.
