The End of Your Arrogance - Chapter 43.1
“Mom, mom!”
“Well, human, you’ve arrived sooner than anticipated!”
Evelyn cradled her son in her arms after several days apart and showered him with a cascade of kisses. Livell giggled, his little legs kicking playfully.
“Did you suffer because of Live?” Evelyn reached out to gently scratch the weary eagle’s crown. The creature wriggled its body, seeming to relish the attention.
“Hmph! How dare you talk about an unruly subject that won’t listen, yet be so forthright about its appetite!”
As the eagle began to ramble about its past tribulations, Evelyn enthusiastically played along.
“The bear will be here to fetch us soon. Hurry and change your clothes.”
Evelyn washed herself and slipped into the dress she had prepared in advance. She strolled to the window, flinging it wide open. The warm spring breeze caressed her face, provoking a mischievous grin. Bathing alone, donning dresses unaided by handmaidens, traversing treacherous rocky paths, and finding slumber in dilapidated inns—
“I’ve truly become a person.”
“What nonsense are you spouting, human?”
The eagle drew closer to the window, nudging Livell’s behind with its head. Evelyn smiled and embraced Live tightly.
“I felt like a delicate flower confined to a greenhouse all this time.” “And you’ve just come to realize that?”
Hehe. Evelyn burst into laughter.
“Will you continue living like that?”
Evelyn cast a sidelong glance at the ring resting on the table.
Immortal love, or unwavering love, is like a man who never arrives, night after night, like a mother waiting for her child, experiencing joy and sorrow at his words, only to eventually release everything.
“No, I yearn to lead a different existence.”
The eagle spread its wings wide and lightly tapped Evelyn’s forehead.
“You have a hidden strength within you, human. You’ll do well.”
“To be honest, I still lack confidence.”
“After giving birth, you haven’t had that steel in you for days.”
“That’s too much!”
Despite being scolded, Evelyn couldn’t help but burst into laughter. The eagle’s ears perked up as the distant commotion reached their ears.
“Madam! My lord!”
Through the partially open door, Arthas poked his head in.
“Arthas, Arthas!”
“Our lord! Look how much weight you’ve lost!”
Setting down Livell, Evelyn rushed over to Arthas. The eagle looked on with pitiful eyes as Arthas and Livell went into a frenzy, hugging each other after being separated for a few days.
“Lord Arthas!”
Madam!”
Arthas couldn’t hold back his tears upon seeing Evelyn’s face.
“Black, I’ve been bad at relaying messages!”
“After being away from the annex for so long, it felt like a wonderful trip.”
Luis, who stood plumply by their side, glanced at Arthas.
“Hey, if anyone hears this, they’ll think the madam has been locked up here for a year.”
Luis chuckled with a sleepy expression on his face. Thinking of the lively and charming lady who offered him deliciously roasted marshmallows, Evelyn smiled.
“I hope everyone has been well. But where is Lord Belina?”
“Oh, well…” Seeing Evelyn’s puzzled expression, Luis cautiously spoke up.
“While you were away, the ballet mistress came every day, saying she was looking for Countess Glen.”
Evelyn’s expression hardened.
“Sir Belina is currently…”
The two men scratched their heads in uncertainty.
“Among us, the one with the most eloquent tongue is none other than the enchanting Lord Belina,” Evelyn declared, rising from her seat.
“Let’s hurry back to the cottage. We must rescue Lord Belina,” Evelyn’s footsteps toward normalcy were braver than ever before.

“The mistress, as per His Majesty’s orders, is currently staying in the celestial tower,” Belina repeated the same words countless times while Evelyn was absent. So was the maid.
“When will she return? The lady is urgently seeking her presence,” the maid asked.
“I am not aware. You should ask His Majesty directly,.” The tension sparked, and Belina’s eyes widened as she glared at the maid.
“Lady!”
Evelyn entered, holding Live’s hand, causing Belina to startle. The maid turned around and politely bowed.
“Lady, it’s been a while since I last saw you. I hope you’ve been well?” The maid raised her head and scrutinized Evelyn from head to toe. Unlike before, Evelyn met the maid’s gaze directly, without averting her eyes.
“Thanks to His Majesty’s consideration, I rested in the celestial tower for a few days. But why has the maid come all the way here?”
Evelyn asked, sitting on the sofa in the reception room, cradling the child in her arms.
“Countess Glen urgently seeks your presence, Mistress.”
“Oh?” Evelyn stood up. The dance master chuckled and took the lead.
“Lady, allow me to accompany you.”
Evelyn smiled as she embraced Livell.
“You’re going to help bathe the child? Can you really burden the maid with such a task? I wonder if that’s within her duties,?” Evelyn called for Sophie, who was nearby.
“We must go to the Fountain of Fairies. It’s been a few days since the child last bathed, and she’s become quite dirty. Please prepare some clothes and snacks for her there.”
