Tamed the Monster Prince - Chapter 8.1
“Cesar.”
“Euuhh…..”
“Cesar.”
“Euh.”
He had not yet amassed the strength necessary to free himself from his restraints. Nevertheless, this would not be the end of the events that transpired. As he was made aware of this fact, a slight softening took place in the forcefulness of his voice.
“Cesar.”
Upon the third call, he ceased his sobbing.
She gingerly placed her hand on his forehead and spoke firmly.
“Are you hungry?”
“Euhh.”
He was desperate for food. They hadn’t had anything to eat since the day before, not even a nibble while she was busy doing her makeup, and Cesar was also assisted in getting into his wedding attire. They were both starving.
While she was answering her questions about why she was still alive, she did not drink a single drop of water, despite the passage of time since the morning breeze.
Cesar’s stomach rumbled after he realized the situation’s seriousness and began comprehending its implications. The grumbling in his stomach was audible because there was so little food in it, which caused him to open his eyes wide in surprise.
“Can you hear it?”
“……Yes.”
She shifted her hands to the shackles restraining his body.
“I’ll undo this now.”
When Cesar felt her touch the chains, he reacted very emotionally.
“Ugh!”
“It’s okay.”
She assured him on several occasions, to the point where he eventually nodded his head in assent, that it was appropriate.
It is possible to trigger a loud sound.
Last night, he exhibited a high level of sensitivity to the sound of thunder, which suggests that he has an increased sensitivity to sound overall. It seemed like it would be more challenging to unlock the chains without making any noise than the muzzle, which could be easily removed with the key in plain sight.
“Is it… okay?”
Cesar gave a subtle indication of approval by closing and reopening his eyes.
‘I will attempt to gain access.’
Cesar put his hand on the chain as he was concluding something. His expectations were dashed when the solid object made only a clinking sound, and he realized his hopes had been misplaced. Cesar’s entire body trembled uncontrollably whenever the chilling sound resounded.
“This is… hmm.”
He was not sure of his capabilities, yet he attempted to open the chain without creating too much of a disturbance.
Cesar mustered his strength instantly, and the chain snapped with a loud noise. Upon being liberated from his restraints, he moved with agility.
“Gah!”
When confronted with the unanticipated circumstance, he let out a startled exclamation and promptly placed his hands over his mouth. He took a thorough look at his environment.
He had moved to the farthest corner of the room. He crouched down in front of the curtain in an attempt to hide. Upon taking in his desolate appearance, it was easy to feel the anguish that he was experiencing.
What kind of wrongdoing must he have committed against other people for him to behave in such a careful manner?
” Cesar.”
“Ugh…”
He was still visibly agitated, with a guarded expression in his eyes. What should Irena do? It seemed the conversation was not progressing. She thought it best to start by calling him from the corner.
“Ummm….”
Cesar emitted a quavering noise and muttered under his breath. The stern expression from the night before crossed her mind, causing her to shudder.
The knight provided her with a bottle of sedative, which she kept in her pocket. Its presence was evident each time she moved as it brushed against her thigh.
Sweat began to form on her brow—the buzzing in her ears. And the vocalization that she found hard to believe could come from a human being.
Avoid placing one’s hands in a muzzle or chain is advised.
Is it possible that her decision was not incorrect after all? What she believed could be a bridge was nothing more than an illusion.
Was it necessary for her to adhere to their instructions? If an error had been made…
‘To ensure the safety of His Highness.’
She will cover the cost this time, as it is a matter of life and death.
‘Ahh, no!’
Cesar clutched his head in distress and let out a loud cry of anguish. The sound reverberated throughout the room, causing a chill to run through the spines of all present.
What could be the cause of this situation?
Had he not been displaying similar behavior yesterday before suddenly erupting in this manner?
‘Ugh…’
His agonized moan persisted, accompanied by the sound of his fingernails clawing at the stone floor and, soon after, an awful sound of bones shattering. How long had it been? His previously crouching figure abruptly ceased movement.
He had a foreboding sense of trepidation.
He inhaled deeply. The situation was undoubtedly unique.
